Millburn boys varsity lost a close game to a very strong Bridgewater-Raritan team 3-1 last Thursday. This loss marks the second consecutive defeat for the Millers, also falling to Glen Ridge last Monday. Prior to these two games, Millburn had won four in a row. Despite losing, Millburn showed amazing resilience to keep this game close. Bridgewater-Raritan opened up the scoring early in the first half, before Aarav Lakhani leveled the game for Millburn off of an assist by Charlie Dawson. The game was tied at halftime, however, Bridgewater-Raritan scored two goals in the second half to claim victory. The Panthers proved to be a very tough competition, as their only lost is to Pingry, who is ranked third in the state. Following the loss, Millburn holds a 8-4-1 record. When asked about the team’s goals for the remainder of the season senior captain Liam Palma stated “they wanted to go further than last year and make the sectional finals”.

Millburn will face Montclair in the second round of the Essex County Tournament on Saturday, October 17 at home.
